Diference between Malware, Spyware, Adware, Virus

Malware
Malware is a computer application that has bad intentions. It can either be installed by the computer user accidentally or it can sneak in to your computer through various avenues. Its not the same as a piece of application that by chance causes harm to your computer, malware is application that has been developed with the intent of causing issues together with your computer.

Spyware
Spyware is a kind of malware program that invades your computer & fundamentally spies on you. There's different types of adware that collect different knowledge. A common adware type is a keylogger which records keystrokes typed on your keyboard. This is how people lose their bank account details. Other adware will record your actions & browsing habits on the net. Any knowledge collected by adware is usually with the intent to sell.

Virus
A virus is a tiny program designed to infect your computer & cause errors, computer crashes, & even destroy your computer hardware. Unlike adware, a virus can grow & replicate itself. It can also travel from computer to another by an online connection. Of work you can get viruses from discs with virus infested files stored on them, however the net is the most common entry point. Some common signs of a virus are emails being sent to all contacts when you didn't send them, being taken to webpage's that you didn't pick, or being told you have a virus & to download a program to fix it

Adware
Adware is another kind of malware & is exactly as the name suggests, application with promotion. Adware can be downloaded & sometimes included in free programs. For example Windows Live messenger & Yahoo messenger contain adware. Although some programs give the choice not to put in the additional adware, others appear to sneak it in without permission.
